Monitoring and the Riak WebUI

The Riak WebUI is a production-ready monitoring tool that comes packaged with Riak EnterpriseDS.

The Riak WebUI is a realtime window into the health of a running Riak Cluster. It provides users with continually-updated statistics on everything from Gets and Puts to a node to memory allocation to Erlang System Processes to CPU usage and more.

Simple to configure and integrated seamlessly with your Riak database, The WebUi runs in any browser and, after downloading and installing the WebUI software, you need only to navigate to http://localhost:8000, enter the location of a Riak Node, and you're done.

The Riak WebUI:

  • Uses Ajax to display a realtime view of the health of a Riak Node
  • Shows mean/median and 95th, 99th, and 100th percentile latencies of Gets and Puts
  • Shows cluster information, including partition assignments and connected nodes
  • Shows Erlang VM and machine health, including CPU load and memory
  • Displays a realtime graph of the averages number of Gets and Puts spawned from/executing on the current node
