More Tales From the Road...
Here is my latest Road Warrior story...
I landed in London on a Sunday and they have a huge storm - the worst in decades with flooding and 80 mph winds. I was there for 3 days with my London guy. He got terribly sick the first day and could not move so I was on my own. I left to go to Frankfurt and was delayed for 3 hours and arrived at midnight, then caught a train for 8 hours. I then flew back to London to learn that a guy had run onto the runway and placed a box they thought was a bomb. This completely backs up Heathrow.
Can you believe this? You cannot get a piece of tin foil from a gum wrapper through security without getting strip searched and this guy gets on the tarmac no problem.
Oh yes - let's not forget the tomato juice the flight attendant spilled on me on my way back from Frankfurt and then handed me a quick wipe, saying it was the best they could do. Don't airlines just go out of their way to show us how not to treat clients? If you think you are ever in need of a training course on poor customer satisfaction, how to pay a lot of money for the equivalent of staying in a federal "country club" prison just book a ticket on an airline and your magical journey begins.
